Measured footage, firm figure

A quote is written after the property has been walked and the line measured. It states the material, the per-foot rate, the number of gates and corners, and any slope or rock that changes the set, and once written it is the price. The per-foot table on the installation page is the Huntsville market; the measured quote for your line is the commitment.

Rock, roots and what the auger finds

A written figure moves for three reasons only, and you hear each one before the crew carries on: limestone close enough to the surface that some holes need a different set, a buried obstruction on the line, and footage beyond what was measured because the line moved. An invoice never carries a line that was not agreed at the fence.

The line, the plat and the locates

The property line is confirmed against your plat before layout. Where it is genuinely uncertain, you are pointed to a surveyor rather than the crew guessing with your neighbor's goodwill at stake. Public utilities are located before a hole is dug; private lines such as sprinklers, low-voltage lighting or a septic lateral are yours to point out first, because no locate service marks them.

HOA sign-off

Where a subdivision reviews fences, the submittal drawings are prepared with the quote, and the approval itself is yours to obtain. The build date is set once it lands, not before.

Wind, storms and repairs

Spring wind takes sections out of north Alabama fences every year. A repair is quoted per post and per panel after a look, and where replacing the run is the smarter money you hear that on the visit, in plain words, before anything is ordered.

North Alabama, eight towns deep

Huntsville, Madison, Athens, Meridianville, Harvest, Hazel Green, Toney, New Market and Owens Cross Roads. Somewhere else in north Alabama? Raise it on the form, hear yes or no before anything is booked, and never find a travel fee on the quote later.

Who is setting the posts

This site collects the request. The fence crew that rings you back is the crew that digs the holes and hangs the gates, and the fence is theirs to answer for. Get that crew's proof of insurance in your hands before the auger starts; a good crew has the paper in the truck.

The pages, and the quote

The material comparisons and the town pages explain how fences are built and priced in this part of Alabama. They are background. Your measured quote is the one document anybody is held to.
